Time To Select 1985 101 Ranch Rodeo Queen

It's time once again to select the 1985 101 Ranch Rodeo queen.

Entries are now open for contestants to enter. The contest is held in conjunction with the 101 Ranch Rodeo which opens this year on Thursday, Aug. 8 and continues through Saturday, Aug. 10.

Sponsored by the Ponca City Business and Professional Women's Club, the queen contest is open to all young horsewomen 15 years old and not over 21, still un-married. Teresa Ann Carlo of Noble is the reigning Rodeo Queen.

Horsemanship counts for up to 50 points in the contest, poise and personality for up to 25 points and appearance for up to 25 points. Trophies and special gifts will be given to the top four place winners and to Miss Congeniality who will be selected by the contestants themselves.

Entries should be sent to Mrs. Lois Scott at 400 North Twelfth, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Marcia Hickman, chairman of the Ponca City BPW civic participation committee, is working with Mrs. Scott to provide housing for the queens during their stay in Ponca City. For more information, prospective contestants may reach Mrs. Scott at 765-2730.
