Time To Select 1985 101 Ranch Rodeo Queen
It's time once again to select the 1985 101 Ranch Rodeo queen.
Entries are now open for contestants to enter. The contest is
held in conjunction with the 101 Ranch Rodeo which opens this year
on Thursday, Aug. 8 and continues through Saturday, Aug. 10.
Sponsored by the Ponca City Business and Professional Women's
Club, the queen contest is open to all young horsewomen 15 years old
and not over 21, still un-married. Teresa Ann Carlo of Noble is the
reigning Rodeo Queen.
Horsemanship counts for up to 50 points in the contest, poise and
personality for up to 25 points and appearance for up to 25 points.
Trophies and special gifts will be given to the top four place
winners and to Miss Congeniality who will be selected by the
contestants themselves.

Ponca City, OK 74601.
Marcia Hickman, chairman of the Ponca City BPW civic
participation committee, is working with Mrs. Scott to provide
housing for the queens during their stay in Ponca City. For more

Rodeo Queen Contestants Still
Applying
Contenders for the title of 1985 101 Ranch Rodeo Queen are still
making application to compete, according to Lois Scott, chairman of
the event which is held in conjunction with the annual 101 Ranch
Rodeo.
The rodeo this year is scheduled for Aug. 8 through Aug. 10 at
the 101 Ranch Rodeo grounds, north of the city. Young horsewomen 15
through 25 years of age and unmarried, may still join in the
competition, Mrs. Scott said. Call her at 765-8993 or send

Members of the Ponca City Business and Professional Women's Club
are again serving as hostesses for the queen contestants, providing
housing, and dining accommodations are being supplied by Blue Moon,
The Kettle and Golden Corral.
Judging the competition this year are Lona Shockley of Oklahoma
City, Rose Yount of Pawhuska and Dale Christenson of Welch.
The queen contestants will be judged on horsemanship, poise,
personality and appearance. Trophies and special gifts will be given
to the top four place winners and to Miss Congeniality, who will be
selected by the contestants themselves.
Teresa Carle of Noble, the reigning Rodeo Queen, will be here for
the rodeo and the Saturday night coronation ceremonies to be held
during the last night of the 101 Ranch Rodeo.

Okeene Entry Named Queen Of 1985 Rodeo
Janel
Boeckman of Okeene was crowned queen Saturday during the final night of
the 25th Annual 101 Ranch Rodeo.
She succeeds Teresa Carle of Noble.
Robin Eutsler, Bartlesville, was named first runner-up, while. Sanda
Coursly, Sapulpa, was second runner-up and Miss Congeniality. Dawn Marie
Garrett, Collinsville, was third runner-up, and Tina Byers, Midwest
City, was fourth runner-up.
