Madison LeAnn Smith of Ponca
City, OK. – Miss 101 Wild West Rodeo
Princess 2009, will be handing over her title and crowning
the new 101 Wild West Rodeo Princess
at this year's rodeo.
The 101 Rodeo Foundation is sponsoring a rodeo
princess contest, which will be held August 12th, 13th, & 14th,
2010. It is opened to any Oklahoma female resident between the ages
8-12.
The committee would like for this pageant to
be a stepping stone and a learning experience for up and
coming rodeo queens.
The 101 Wild West Rodeo Queen's
Competition continues to attract top-notch horsewomen for the honor
of serving as the historic rodeo queen.
The opportunity to represent the 101 Wild West Rodeo
as queen for a year is one of Oklahoma’s highest honors, as many of our queens
have gone on to reign as Miss Oklahoma Rodeo as well.
There will be three major pageant divisions. The percentage will be based on the
following: 40% speech/interview, 50% horsemanship, 10% ticket sales. Judged
events will include interviews/speeches, photogenic, and horsemanship.
Activities for the candidates include appearances in the parade, interviews, as
well as appearances and autograph sessions during each night's rodeo
performances.
The coronation will be held during Saturday's performance. The 101 Wild West
Rodeo Princess will also be required to attend and represent our rodeo at
various events through out the year. The winner will also have the option of
participating in the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Pageant.
