COMMON QUESTIONS

Where is the rodeo held?

The 101 Wild West Rodeo is held in an outdoor arena at 23 Darr Park Drive, Ponca City, OK.

We hope the weather cooperates with our show schedule every year, but as you know, we can’t predict the weather. We have some of the toughest cowboys and cowgirls in the industry, and they will compete and perform for you regardless of the weather. Bring your umbrella if it’s raining the night you plan to attend because our cowboys and cowgirls aren’t scared to get wet.

Are there places to sit?

Seating is divided into 4 sections

THE STANDS are where most spectators sit, who have purchased general admission tickets to watch the event. The stands consist of new aluminum bleachers and open seating. Be sure to arrive about 30 minutes early to get the best seats.

BOX SEATS allowing groups who have purchased a particular box location to sit directly next to the arena fence. The box seats enable spectators to sit right next to the action. Sitting in a box seat during the rodeo, you’ll see cowboys, cowgirls, horses, and bulls so close that you could touch them if the fence weren’t between you. If you are interested in the box seat experience, contact a rodeo board member today to purchase a box seat package.

VIP TENT situated at the end of the arena, and spectators that purchase a VIP ticket get the following perks: live entertainment before the rodeo, free drinks during the rodeo, and excellent seating and views during the rodeo. The “VIP Tent” is best suited for spectators over the age of 21.

CHUTE HEAVEN seating is above the area where all the bucking horses and bulls are kept before entering the competition in their respective events (i.e., saddle bronc riding, bull riding). You will be so close to the action that you can hear the cowboys talk before their rides. You’ll be able to watch the action from a birds-eye view directly above the action. These tickets usually sell out several months before the upcoming rodeo, so contact a board member immediately to discuss purchasing options if you are interested. Higher price, Elevated rodeo experience.

Will there be rodeo clowns?

What is Rodeo without clowns called? Answer: It’s sure not called a 101 Wild West Rodeo. Each year the 101 Wild West Rodeo hires the best rodeo clowns and entertainers in the industry. While watching the rodeo performance, you will see clowns telling jokes to the spectators and giving the contestants a hard time. Our clowns provide endless entertainment throughout the night and keep each contestant safe. A rodeo clown’s primary responsibility is to keep each contestant safe, and our clowns will put their safety on the line to protect each cowboy during our nightly events.
