At Oak - Our Parade Marshall this year is Pistol Pete - He was a tradition born in the 1920’s and originated from a cowboy named Frank Eaton. Frank was a cowboy marksman, rode in the Armistic Day Parade and OSU’s Homecoming Parade. He passed away in 1958 and the same year Charlie Lester appeared as OSU’s first Pistol Pete mascot. His cowboy life was a strong symbol of the Old West and allowed him to also serve as a US Deputy Marshall, making him the perfect mascot for Oklahoma State University. He serves as a symbol of the cowboy spirit now and forever.
Riding with Pistol Pete are the 7th thru 12th grade Ponca City Lady Cat Basketball teams with our dj, Jace Kennedy on a trailer donated by Keeler Equipment located north of Ponca City on Hwy 77.
